Hi, I’m Samira Penaranda. A wife, proud stepmom of four amazing kids, and a Puerto Rican raised in sunny Tampa, Florida. With a heart for storytelling and an eye for emotion, I began my journey as a content creator in 2023, driven by a passion for preserving the fleeting, unscripted moments that make life and love so beautiful.
When I got married in 2022, content creation for weddings wasn’t really a thing and looking back, I wish I had those raw, intimate moments captured in short, meaningful snippets. Moments that felt real, emotional, and uniquely ours. That’s when I realized there was a missing piece in the wedding industry someone who could document the in-between with intention and heart. That’s why I created Currently Candid: to be there for couples who don’t want to forget how their day felt.

With a background in marketing and an eye for the details most people miss, I capture all the candid, emotional, and chaotic moments you’ll actually want to remember. While your photographer is getting the perfect posed shot, I’m in the corner filming your flower girl doing cartwheels or your partner shedding a happy tear they swore wouldn’t fall. When I’m not filming weddings, I’m chasing my toddler, running or gym-ing, freelance marketing, or editing reels sipping on a matcha. I’m part content strategist, part creative director, and 100% committed to making your day look as good online as it felt in real life.
